Major Classic
Strade Bianche 2027
Saturday 6 March 2027
Overview
Strade Bianche takes place on Saturday 6 March 2027 in Tuscany, starting and finishing in Siena.
The race takes its name from its “white roads”: dirt and gravel tracks that wind through the hills of Chianti and the Crete Senesi. These unpaved sectors split the peloton from halfway onwards, and it often becomes a race of attrition, with riders shed one by one.
The finish is on the Piazza del Campo, in the heart of Siena, after a final, very steep climb through the city's narrow streets.

The key passages
The route changes slightly from year to year, but these passages define the race.
The white gravel sectors
Around ten sectors of dirt and gravel, several dozen kilometres in total. Dust when it is dry, mud when it rains.
Monte Sante Marie
One of the longest and most famous sectors of the race, often placed in the second half of the route.
The final climb to the Piazza del Campo
One last cobbled wall through the streets of Siena, a few hundred metres from the line. Sometimes it is enough to make the difference.
A bit of history
Strade Bianche was born in 2007, making it one of the youngest major races on the calendar. Within a few years, though, it has earned a place of its own, to the point of sometimes being nicknamed the sixth Monument.
Tadej Pogačar holds the record with four wins, including three in a row from 2024 to 2026.
