Overview
The Tour of Flanders, the Ronde to the Belgians, takes place on Sunday 4 April 2027.
The second Monument of the year, it is Flanders' national celebration of cycling. The route strings together around fifteen bergs, often cobbled, and several flat cobbled sectors. A race for strongmen, where you have to be well placed at the foot of every berg.
The finish is in Oudenaarde, as it has been every year since 2012. The start town changes from one edition to the next.

The key bergs
The finale of the Ronde revolves around two cobbled bergs, climbed several times.
The Oude Kwaremont
More than two kilometres of uneven cobbles. Its last ascent, in the finale, often makes the decisive selection.
The Paterberg
Very short but very steep, cobbled from bottom to top. It is usually the last berg, around fifteen kilometres from the finish.
The Koppenberg
A narrow, very steep cobbled wall, placed earlier in the route, where riders sometimes have to put a foot down.
A bit of history
The Tour of Flanders has been held since 1913. The record for wins is three, shared by several riders, including Fabian Cancellara, Tom Boonen, Mathieu van der Poel and Tadej Pogačar.
Pogačar joined that group in 2026, after his wins in 2023 and 2025. Van der Poel won it in 2020, 2022 and 2024.
