Overview
The Vuelta a España 2027, the Tour of Spain, starts in Santiago de Compostela on Saturday 4 September 2027 and finishes in Madrid on Sunday 26 September. It begins later than usual.
The race opens with a road stage inspired by the Camino de Santiago, in the middle of the Holy Year of St James (Xacobeo 2027). The organisers have announced at least four stages in Galicia.
The last Grand Tour of the season, the Vuelta is known for its very steep summit finishes. The leader of the general classification wears the red jersey.
